Cruises - Gotta Be 21 To Drink

My wife and I are scheduled to take a Caribbean cruise this autumn. With all the hurricane activity this season, I was just looking at Royal Caribbean's policies if a 'caine comes through and prevents the vacation. While surfing their site, I came across the answer to a frequently asked question:

What is the legal drinking age in international waters?

While I don't have an exact answer to this question, any Royal Caribbean cruise originating in the USA requires all passengers who are consuming alcohol to be 21 or older. RC is partners with at least one other cruise line and I'll wager their policy is the same.

So, it's a no go for minors who want to drink on cruises. Props to Royal Caribbean for their policy which coincides with American laws.

I agree 21 is the accurate and appropriate age to get an alcohol drink in a cruise. I know not all cruise obtain this policy, they keep giving alcohol drinks to some minors.

I don't think so. It really depends to the person drinking. Anyway he is responsible for everything he does. drinking are one of the package deal when traveling in a cruise sip.

I agree, it's just kinda sad how the 21 age requirement is even less obeyed on sea than on land. I noticed quite a few individuals of questionable age drinking on the cruise. Seems like the 21 year policy is a policy, not a
law.

I'm afraid I don't understand. Are you suggesting the law shouldn't be
obeyed? Or that we (America) shouldn't have a national drinking age? Or that cruises shouldn't have a policy that coincides with American law?
